Data Deletion Policy

Under Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA), you have the right to withdraw consent and request the deletion of your personal data held by MimiDirect. This page explains how to make that request and what to expect.

1. Your Right to Deletion

You may request that MimiDirect delete personal data we hold about you at any time, subject to the exceptions listed in Section 4. This includes:

  • Your name, contact number, and email submitted via our enquiry form
  • Your helper profile, including photo, bio, and all associated details
  • Any messages or notes associated with your enquiry

2. How to Submit a Deletion Request

To request deletion of your data, please contact us via one of the following:

  • Enquiry form: Use the form on our homepage and write “Data Deletion Request” in the requirements field, along with the name and email address associated with your data
  • WhatsApp: Message our coordinator directly and include your full name and the email address used when submitting data

We will acknowledge your request within 3 business days and complete the deletion within 30 days, in line with PDPA obligations.

3. What Happens After Your Request

Once we verify your identity and confirm the request:

  • Your personal data will be permanently deleted from our active database
  • Your helper profile (if applicable) will be removed from public listing immediately
  • Any enquiry records linked to your email or contact number will be deleted
  • We will send you a written confirmation once deletion is complete

Note: Deletion of data from backup systems may take up to 90 days due to routine backup rotation cycles.

4. Exceptions — When We Cannot Delete Data

We may be unable to delete certain data where retention is required:

  • Legal obligation: Singapore law or a court order requires us to retain the data
  • Ongoing dispute: The data relates to an unresolved complaint, dispute, or legal claim involving you and MimiDirect
  • MOM compliance: Records necessary to comply with Ministry of Manpower requirements related to an active employment arrangement facilitated through the Platform
  • Fraud prevention: Data flagged in connection with fraudulent activity may be retained for safety purposes

If we are unable to fulfil your deletion request in full, we will explain the specific reason in our response.

5. Withdrawal of Consent

Where we process your data based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time by submitting a deletion request as described above. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.

If you withdraw consent while an active hiring process is underway, we may still need to retain minimal records to complete that process or comply with MOM requirements.

6. Correction of Data

If you believe personal data we hold about you is inaccurate or incomplete, you may also request a correction. Please contact us with the specific information you wish to correct. We will update it within 10 business days.

7. Helper Profile Removal

If you are a helper listed on MimiDirect and wish to be removed from the Platform:

  • Contact us via WhatsApp with your name and the request to be de-listed
  • Your profile will be removed from public view within 2 business days
  • A full data deletion request (as above) will result in permanent removal within 30 days
